I was a nurse in a past life. In 2009, out of bordedom or some other driving force, I suddenly had a very strong urge to draw. It was a Friday evening after some stressful shifts working in the hospital that week, so I put on some Bob Dylan (best of), grabbed my grown son's crayola color pencils and sketchpad, plopped down on the living room floor and spent two hours drawing a dark green arm chair with funky floral pillow. The end result wasn't that great, but the feeling was "wow, I drew this. Now I want to draw more". So the next day I went to the craft store and bought a quality set of colored pencils and drew and drew and drew. At the suggestion of an artist friend, I tried my hand at painting and was absolutely hooked and have been painting ever since.
I love making art and I love when others feel a connection to it. It's really kind of magical when that happens. My paintings are in private collections world wide, and one corporate collection here in my home state of Kansas (The Art of Emprise). I first began selling locally, then on Etsy, and now I offer them here on my own.
My creative time is still in painting, but often I can be found in the garden working or taking pictures of butterflies. And once in a blue moon I make an art doll. I think I have ADD. : )
