About

I started painting in 2011 as a way to decompress from the stresses of working as a registered nurse. What began as an outlet quickly became a lifeline—something I couldn’t imagine my life without now. Painting helps me navigate the complexities of being human and to explore the beauty that is around me, often giving the feeling of having the constant help of a teacher that helps me see things. I usually work intuitively, letting the story unfold as I go, choosing subjects and colors that feel right in the moment. It’s always amazing to see my own story emerge—and even more so when others find their own meaning in my art.  That shared connection is truly special.

I work in mixed media and oils on paper, canvas, and wood. And once in a while I make an art doll.

I started selling my paintings on Etsy, and then in local cafés and venues.  I had the opportunity to be part of a gallery for a few years and along the way, three of my paintings were acquired for the Art of Emprise collection at Emprise Bank. I currently offer any available paintings here on this website.

If I am not painting, I am taking long walks, working in my garden, or chatting away with a family member or friend.  I am a goer and a doer and like to keep busy,  but I also love to be still.  In the stillness is where I get most of my inspiration.  I am currently living in Wichita, Kansas with my husband and a cat named Mitsou.
